Update of January 4 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 829,632 after additional 355 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 4, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 812,937 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 263 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 7,724 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 4, 5% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,601. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three died on January 4. There are 5,500 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On January 4, 1,535 people were tested through the antigen process among which 38 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,318 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 10,710,721 people have been fully vaccinated till January 4.
