Update of January 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 953,913 after additional 3,472 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 31, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 862,898 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 90.5% along with 6,359 latest recovered. There are 79,272 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 10,368 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 31, 33% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.2% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,743. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, eight died on January 31. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 31, 5,720 people were tested through the antigen process among which 1,820 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 128,755 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 14,204,270 people have been fully vaccinated till January 31.
