Update of January 29 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 947,392 after additional 3,318 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 29, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 848,360 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 89.5% along with 5,924 latest recovered. There are 87,329 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 10,101 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 29, 33% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,703. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, six died on January 29. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Nuwakot, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Tanahu, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On January 29, 4,461 people were tested through the antigen process among which 1,586 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 126,444 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 14,015,324 people have been fully vaccinated till January 29.
