Update of January 27 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 270,375 after additional 283 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 27, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 265,079 of the total infected have recovered. On January 27, the rate of recovery reached 98.1% along with the 246 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 3,286 people are being treated. Out of which 2,410 are in home isolation, 139 are being treated in ICU, and 23 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,020. According to the Ministry, 4,382 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Rukum West, Kalikot, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases. The vaccination campaign against corona virus has started across the country from January 27. In the first phase, health workers, security personnel, sanitation workers and others were vaccinated. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 9,084 people were vaccinated on January 27.
