Update of January 27 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 939,267 after additional 5,816 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 27, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 837,004 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 89.1% along with 5,292 latest recovered. There are 90,576 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 15,736 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 27, 37% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.1% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,687. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 15 died on January 27. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Saptari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Nuwakot, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Tanahu, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On January 27, 6,072 people were tested through the antigen process among which 2,201 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 122,838 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 13,734,390 people have been fully vaccinated till January 27.
