Update of January 26 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 933,451 after additional 5,571 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 26, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 831,712 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 89.1% along with 4,433 latest recovered. There are 90,067 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 13,549 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 26, 41% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.1% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,672. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, five died on January 26. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Nuwakot, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 26, 6,810 people were tested through the antigen process among which 2,883 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 120,637 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 13,243,577 people have been fully vaccinated till January 26.
