Update of January 24 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 918,448 after additional 8,054 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 24, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 824,239 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 89.7% along with 2,540 latest recovered. There are 82,550 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 16,654 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 24, 48% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.9% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,659. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, four died on January 24. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 24, 4,547 people were tested through the antigen process among which 2,265 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 115,178 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 12,966,362 people have been fully vaccinated till January 24.
