Update of January 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 910,394 after additional 5,598 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 23, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 821,699 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 90.3% along with 1,416 latest recovered. There are 77,040 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 13,377 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 23, 42% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.8% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,655. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, four died on January 23. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 23, 4,060 people were tested through the antigen process among which 864 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 112,913 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 12,898,923 people have been fully vaccinated till January 23.
