Update of January 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 904,796 after additional 8,212 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 22, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 820,286 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 90.7% along with 708 latest recovered. There are 72,862 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 14,462 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 22, 57% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.7% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,651. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 16 died on January 22. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 22, 5,725 people were tested through the antigen process among which 2,042 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 112,049 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 12,870,867 people have been fully vaccinated till January 22.
