Update of January 21 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 896,584 after additional 8,815 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 21, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 819,575 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 91.4% along with 766 latest recovered. There are 65,374 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 18,618 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 21, 47% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.6% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,635. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three died on January 21. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
On January 21, 4,474 people were tested through the antigen process among which 1,888 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 110,007 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 12,746,580 people have been fully vaccinated till January 21.
