Update of January 15 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 849,204 after additional 3,703 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 15, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 816,003 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 96.1% along with 350 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 10,412 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 15, 31% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,617. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, four died on January 15. There are 21,584 people in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan and Kaski have more than 500 active cases.

On January 15, 4,144 people were tested through the antigen process among which 933 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 101,041 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 12,096,805 people have been fully vaccinated till January 15.
