Update of January 12 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 838,375 after additional 2,448 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 12, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 815,076 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.2% along with 278 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,051 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 12, 27% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 16.9% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,609. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on January 12. There are 11,690 people in isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On January 12, 3,985 people were tested through the antigen process among which 627 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 98,594 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 11,469,678 people have been fully vaccinated till January 12.
