Update of January 11 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 265,286 after additional 488 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 11, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 258,968 of the total infected have recovered. On January 11, the rate of recovery reached 97.6% along with the 527 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 4,373 people are being treated. Out of which 1,230 are in home isolation, 163 are being treated in ICU, and 37 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,927. According to the Ministry, 5,309 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Taplejung, Solukhumbu, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.

According to Baitadi Representative Nari Badu, the Gadichhetra at the district headquarters has been sealed for 11 days. The Dasharathchanda Municipality has decided to seal the area of Ward No. 4 till January 19 after a local died due to a COVID-19 infection. According to Chief Administrative Officer Bikram Bahadur Chand, it has been decided to seal the area from January 11 to January 19. The area of Dasharathchanda Municipality has been sealed to prevent the spread of the disease as seven people are still infected in the area. In Baitadi, COVID-19 infection has been diagnosed in 636 people so far and two people have died due to it. Chief of the health office Yogesh Prasad Bhatt informed that there are 32 active infected people in the district at present of which 21 active cases are in Dasharathchanda municipality, 10 in Patan municipality, and one in Dogadakedar rural municipality.
