Update of February 9 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 970,462 after additional 1,851 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 9, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 928,369 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 95.7% along with 5,103 latest recovered. There are 30,241 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 11,603 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 9, 16% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,852. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 14 died on February 9.

On February 9, 4,753 people were tested through the antigen process among which 550 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 136,155 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 15,932,041 people have been fully vaccinated till February 9. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
