Update of February 5 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 965,222 after additional 1,103 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 5, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 900,639 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.3% along with 8,425 latest recovered. There are 52,780 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 5,225 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 5, 21% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,803. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, nine died on February 5.

On February 5, 3,288 people were tested through the antigen process among which 611 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 134,081 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 15,482,087 people have been fully vaccinated till February 5. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchowk, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.
