Update of February 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 976,984 after additional 119 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 28, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 956,813 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.9% along with 400 latest recovered. There are 8,235 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 5,218 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 28, 2% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,936. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one died on February 28. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On February 28, 3,123 people were tested through the antigen process among which 61 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 139,387 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till February 28, 17,490,473 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
