Update of February 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 273,666 after additional 110 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 23, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 270,068 of the total infected have recovered. On February 23, the rate of recovery reached 98.7% along with the 102 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 1,533 people are being treated. Out of which 527 are in home isolation, 46 are being treated in ICU, and 11 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,065. According to the Ministry, 3,218 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Khotang, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Rukum West, Mugu, and Achham while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
