Update of February 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 976,361 after additional 256 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 23, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 954,341 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.7% along with 831 latest recovered. There are 10,090 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 5,103 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 23, 5% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.1% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,930. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on February 23. Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski have more than 500 active cases.

On February 23, 3,590 people were tested through the antigen process among which 56 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 138,971 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till February 23, 17,786,133 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
