Update of February 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 273,556 after additional 125 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 22, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 269,966 of the total infected have recovered. On February 22, the rate of recovery reached 98.7% along with the 90 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 1,529 people are being treated. Out of which 534 are in home isolation, 43 are being treated in ICU, and 11 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 2,061. According to the Ministry, 3,681 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Panchthar, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Rukum West, Mugu, and Achham while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
