Update of February 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 975,559 after additional 229 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 20, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 951,394 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.5% along with 1,338 latest recovered. There are 12,244 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 6,572 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 20, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.1% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,921. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, eight died on February 20. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kaski and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On February 20, 3,243 people were tested through the antigen process among which 33 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 138,597 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data.
