Update of February 17 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 974,857 after additional 364 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 17, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 946,330 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 96.9% along with 1,993 latest recovered. There are 16,616 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 7,028 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 17, 5% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,911. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, six died on February 17. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kaski, Banke and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On February 17, 2,761 people were tested through the antigen process among which 206 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 138,250 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till February 17, 16,826,851 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
