Update of February 16 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 974,493 after additional 454 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 16, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 944,337 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 96.9% along with 1,600 latest recovered. There are 18,251 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 6,782 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 16, 7% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,905. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three died on February 16. There are 25,680 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kaski, Banke and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On February 16, 2,974 people were tested through the antigen process among which 185 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 138,044 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till February 16, 16,703,386 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
