Update of February 1 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 957,570 after additional 3,657 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on February 1, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 871,165 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 91% along with 8,267 latest recovered. There are 74,653 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 10,776 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on February 1, 34% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,752. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, eight died on February 1. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhanusha, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchowk, Nuwakot, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke, Rupandehi, Dang and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On February 1, 8,098 people were tested through the antigen process among which 1,926 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 130,681 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. According to the Ministry, 14,407,775 people have been fully vaccinated till February 1.
