Update of December 8 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 243,377 after additional 1,382 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 8, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 229,054 of the total infected have recovered. On December 8, the rate of recovery reached 94.1% along with the 1,621 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 12,686 people are being treated. Out of which, 8,060 are in home isolation, 354 are being treated in ICU, and 58 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,637. According to the Ministry, 8,047 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Manang and Dolpa while Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.
