Update of December 8 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 823,357 after additional 255 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 8, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 805,571 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.8% along with 366 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 9,168 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 8, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.6% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,547. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two people died on December 8. There are 6,239 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
On December 8, 3,006 people were tested through the antigen process among which 25 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 95,687 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 8,886,967 people have been fully vaccinated till December 8.
