Update of December 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 828,431 after additional 224 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 31, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 811,958 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 212 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 7,885 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 31, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.1% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,594. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, four died on December 31. There are 4,879 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
On December 31, 1,199 people were tested through the antigen process among which 11 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,202 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 10,384,851 people have been fully vaccinated till December 31.
