Update of December 30 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 259,912 after additional 511 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 30, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 252,359 of the total infected have recovered. On December 30, the rate of recovery reached 96.9% along with the 600 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 6,300 people are being treated. Out of which 2,823 are in home isolation, 217 are being treated in ICU, and 37 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,847. According to the Ministry, 5,110 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mahottari, Sarlahi, Siraha, Mugu, and Rukum West while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
