Update of December 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 258,840 after additional 659 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 28, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 250,581 of the total infected have recovered. On December 28, the rate of recovery reached 96.8% along with the 718 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 6,427 people are being treated. Out of which 3,022 are in home isolation, 254 are being treated in ICU, and 40 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,832. According to the Ministry, 5,578 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mahottari, Sarlahi, Siraha, Mugu and Rukum West while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
