Update of December 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 827,763 after additional 241 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 28, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 811,365 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 260 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 8,536 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 28, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.1% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,588. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on December 28. There are 4,910 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 28, 4,030 people were tested through the antigen process among which 23 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,174 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 10,229,144 people have been fully vaccinated till December 28.
