Update of December 24 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 256,792 after additional 613 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 24, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 247,400 of the total infected have recovered. On December 24, the rate of recovery reached 96.4% along with the 739 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 7,384 people are being treated. Out of which 3,933 are in home isolation, 261 are being treated in ICU, and 49 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,808. According to the Ministry, 5,510 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mugu while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
