Update of December 24 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 826,901 after additional 237 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 24, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 810,271 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 341 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 8,060 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 24, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,582. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on December 24. There are 5,048 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur and  Bhaktapur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 24, 3,838 people were tested through the antigen process among which 23 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,115 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,927,123 people have been fully vaccinated till December 24.
