Update of December 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 255,979 after additional 743 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 23, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 246,661 of the total infected have recovered. On December 23, the rate of recovery reached 96.3% along with the 952 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 7,515 people are being treated. Out of which 4,119 are in home isolation, 248 are being treated in ICU, and 50 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,803. According to the Ministry, 6,559 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mugu while Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
