Update of December 21 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 826,206 after additional 252 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 21, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 809,387 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 232 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 12,473 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 21, 2% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,577. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three died on December 21. There are 5,242 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 21, 4,616 people were tested through the antigen process among which 38 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,021 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,737,333 people have been fully vaccinated till December 21.
