Update of December 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 825,954 after additional 218 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 20, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 809,155 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 263 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 2,725 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 20, 8% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,574. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one died on December 20. There are 5,225 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 20, 1,416 people were tested through the antigen process among which two were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 95,983 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,646,720 people have been fully vaccinated till December 20.
