Update of December 19 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 825,736 after additional 133 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 19, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 808,892 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 289 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 4,831 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 19, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,573. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one died on December 19. There are 5,271 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 19, 5,041 people were tested through the antigen process among which 48 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 95,981 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,623,001 people have been fully vaccinated till December 19.
