Update of December 17 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 825,445 after additional 269 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 17, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 808,353 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.9% along with 270 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 7,691 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 17, 3.49% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.3% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,570. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three died on December 17. There are 5,522 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
On December 17, 1,325 people were tested through the antigen process among which five were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 95,902 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,531,259 people have been fully vaccinated till December 17.
