Update of December 13 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 248,423 after additional 830 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 13, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 235,731 of the total infected have recovered. On December 13, the rate of recovery reached 94.9% along with the 1,500 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 10,994 people are being treated. Out of which 6,232 are in home isolation, 294 are being treated in ICU, and 52 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,698. According to the Ministry, 5,181 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Manang while Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

In Karnali Province,

According to Rukum West Representative Manisha KC, prohibition was imposed from December 12 to December 18 after the infection of COVID-19 was found in Chaurjahari Municipality, informed Acting Chief Administrative Officer Ram Bahadur KC. He said that the prohibition was imposed after the operation of schools in three wards of Chaurajahari Municipality. According to Officer KC, services such as peace and security, health, electricity, telecommunications, drinking water, dairy products, pharmacy, food, gas, and petroleum products will be operated with caution during this period.
