Update of August 7 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people reached 990,127 after 451 additional new cases on August 7, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 972,497 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.2% along with the 433 latest recovered. There are 5,659 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 2,040 swabs were collected for PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Till now, the death toll has reached 11,971 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, no death was recorded. On August 7, 1,749 people were tested through the antigen process and 102 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 144,611 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. Till August 7, 20,626,494 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Tehrathum representative Suresh Khatri, Menchhayayem Rural Municipality has decided to close the school from August 8 to 11 due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections. It is mentioned in the notification issued on August 8 by the Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, Yadav Bahadur Khapung, that it has been decided to close the public and private schools due to symptoms similar to Covid-19.
