Update of August 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 762,647 after additional 1,523 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on August 31, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 716,306 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.9% along with 1,786 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,117 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on August 31, 17% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,750. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 20 people died on August 30. There are 35,591 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Tanahu, Dang, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

On August 31, 3,105 people were tested through the antigen process among which 141 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 83,505 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the ministry, 4,459,761 people have been fully vaccinated till August 31.
