Update of August 31 Regarding Corona Virus Infection
On August 31, an additional 899 cases were diagnosed with which there are now 39, 460 corona virus-infected people in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 21,410 have been discharged after recovery. On August 31, 588 were discharged. Out of the total number of infected, 54.3% have recovered. At present, there are 17,822 people being treated in different hospitals nationwide. Till now, the death toll has reached 228. According to the Ministry, in the past 24 hours, 11,129 swabs were tested. Till date, 693,472 swabs have been tested nationwide.

Province 1,
According to the District Representative of Morang, Netra Prasad Adhikari, as many as 125 health workers have been confirmed infected with the coronavirus in Province 1 till August 31. The Ministry of Social Development has stated that 61 women and 64 men health workers have been infected with the coronavirus till August 31. Of those infected, 33 have been discharged. According to the Ministry of Social Development, 42 women and 50 men are undergoing treatment.
According to the District Representative of Dhankuta, Ishwar Thapa, a meeting of the District Crisis Management Centre has decided to tighten the prohibition August 31 to September 2. The highest number of 19 cases of coronavirus was confirmed in Dhankuta on August 29. Chief District Officer Keshav Prasad Bimali said that the prohibition has been tightened to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.
According to the District Representative of Sankhuwasabha, Bhawin Karki, a meeting of the Madi municipality on August 31 has decided to seal the municipality till September 4 after the spread of coronavirus in the neighbouring district Tehrathum. The municipality of Madi, which borders Tehrathum, has decided to seal the area to reduce the risk of coronavirus, said Bidur Subba, mayor of the municipality.

According to the District Representative of Saptari, Manohar Kumar Pokharel, it has been decided to continue the prohibition for another seven days in Rajbiraj, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality and Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality to prevent and control corona infection. The meeting of the federal level decided to continue the prohibition at three local levels by reducing the area of the prohibition.
According to the District Representative of Siraha, Durga Pariyar, according to Chief District Officer Pradip Raj Kandel, a meeting of the district level CCMC on August 31 decided to add 12 more days of lockdown. The CCMC meeting had issued a prohibitory order from August 17 to 31.
According to the District Representative of Mahottari, Ajay Kumar Sah, a 40-year-old health assistant of Manarasisawa-4 has died due to corona infection, said Bijay Jha, a senior officer of the province-2 health directorate. According to Jha, the health worker, who was running a private clinic at the local level, died at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan on August 28.
According to the District Representative of Bara, Bhola Nath Paudel, Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Pandit has requested that the prohibition be continued at all local levels of the district from August 31 until further notice as per the decision of the District Security Committee and DCCMC on September 3 to save the lives of the common people and control corona infection.
According to the District Representative of Parsa, Krishna Chandra Lamichhane, an 80-year-old senior citizen of Birgunj Metropolitan City-24, who was undergoing treatment in the ICU for three days of COVID Hospital, Birgunj Health Care, has died on August 31. He was taken to Narayani Hospital after he was diagnosed with fever and liver problems and tested positive with COVID-19 the very day.

According to the District Representative of Chitwan, Dipendra Adhikari, a 78-year-old man from Bharatpur Metropolitan-6, Kesharbagh, who was undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital due to coronavirus (Covid-19) infection, died at 7 am on August 31 said Dr Pramod Poudel, Covid-19 Clinical Coordinator of the hospital.
Meanwhile, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 52 out of 76 workers of Trishakti Food Industry in Ratnanagar Municipality-4.
In Gandaki Province,
According to the District Representative of Parbat, Santosh Thapa, an all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office on August 31 to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the community in the district has decided to close all public transport vehicles with effect from August 31.
Similarly, the District Administration Office has instructed the Kushma Municipality to stop the collection of savings by the cooperatives at their doorsteps to prevent the spread of corona infection in the community in Kushma Bazaar, said Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi.
According to the District Representative of Baglung, Sirjana Panta, A 48-hour prohibitory order has been imposed in Baglung Municipality with effect from the night of August 31. A meeting of the Corona Prevention Management Centre, Baglung, has decided to extend the prohibitory, which has been in force in the district since August 19. Chief District Officer Suresh Neupane said that the decision taken at the meeting was sent to the District Security Committee for approval.
In Sudur Paschim Province,
According to the District Representative of Achham, Shiva Raj Dhungana, a meeting of the District Crisis Management Committee, Achham, has decided to seal the Mangalsen Municipality and Sanphebagar Municipality till September 1, saying that the number of corona infected is increasing, said Mangalsen Municipality Chief Padma Bahadur Bohara. Corona infection has been confirmed in 893 people in the district so far and PCR test report of 382 people is yet to come.
According to the District Representative of Doti, Basudev Joshi, The district administration office, Doti, has issued a prohibitory order for the entire district from August 28 to September 4 after the spread of corona infection at the community level. Chief District Officer Bhattarai said that all means of transport except ambulance, food transport and vegetable transportation have been completely shut down and action will be taken as per Section 3 of the Infectious Diseases Act 2020 and Section 6 of the Local Administration Act 2028.
