Update of August 3 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people reached 988,327 after 590 additional new cases on August 3, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 970,926 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.2% along with the 301 latest recovered. There are 5,433 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 3,091 swabs were collected for PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Till now, the death toll has reached 11,968 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, no death was recorded. On August 3, 2,911 people were tested through the antigen process and 301 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 143,526 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. Till August 3, 20,607,247 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Jumla representative Mandatta Rawal, the school has been closed after the students of Janajagruti Secondary School located in Ghode village of Tila rural municipality-6 were infected with COVID-19. The school was closed after 88 swab samples were tested and two students, one male and one female student, and one health worker were found to be infected with COVID-19. Jayalal Rokaya, Principal of the school,  said that the students were showing symptoms of cough, fever and headache. After those students fell ill for a week, the school administration requested the health department of the rural municipality for testing. The school issued a statement saying that the school will be closed on August 20. There are 222 students in the school.
