Update of August 28 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people reached 996,834 after 164 additional new cases on August 28, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 981,521 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.5% along with the 462 latest recovered. There are 3,313 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 2,064 swabs were collected for PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Till now, the death toll has reached 12,000 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, no death was recorded. On August 28, 1,769 people were tested through the antigen process and 38 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 150,370 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. Till August 28, 21,319,797 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Rasuwa representative Hemnath Khatiwada, due to the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in various villages of Uttargaya Rural Municipality-4, the local level has closed schools for an indefinite period from August 25. Balram Neupane, the health assistant of Karmidanda health centre, said that the village and ward office issued a notification and closed the schools after the infection was found among the children studying in the school. The school was closed after 19 children were diagnosed positive with Covid-19. There are four schools in the ward and they are Malika Devi Basic School, Dhunge Basic School, Bhuvaneshwari Basic School and Navavijay Mahendra Secondary School.
