Update of August 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people reached 995,989 after 343 additional new cases on August 23, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 979,774 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.4% along with the 417 latest recovered. There are 4,221 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 2,757 swabs were collected for PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Till now, the death toll has reached 11,994 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one death was recorded. On August 23, 2,192 people were tested through the antigen process and 291 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 149,585 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. Till August 23, 21,259,459 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
