Update of August 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 747,433 after additional 1,702 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on August 22, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 698,173 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.4% along with the 2,248 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,443 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on August 22, 18% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,509. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 24 people died on August 22. There are 38,751 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Tanahu, Dang, Rupandehi, Surkhet and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On August 22, 3,073 people were tested through the antigen process among which 218 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 80,209 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this number. According to the ministry, 3,846,736 people have been fully vaccinated till August 22.
