Update of August 21 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 745,331 after additional 1,424 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on August 21, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 695,925 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.3% along with the 2,382 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 7,703 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on August 21, 18% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,485. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 30 people died on August 21. There are 39,321 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Tanahu, Dang, Rupandehi, Surkhet and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

On August 21, 5,372 people were tested through the antigen process among which 651 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 79,991people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this number. According to the ministry, 3,835,608 people have been fully vaccinated till August 21.
