Update of August 16 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people reached 993,858 after 399 additional new cases on August 16, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 976,609 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.3% along with the 526 latest recovered. There are 5,259 active infected cases at present.
According to the Ministry, 2,722 swabs were collected for PCR tests in the past 24 hours. Till now, the death toll has reached 11,990 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one death was recorded. On August 16, 2,897 people were tested through the antigen process and 449 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 147,822 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. Till August 16, 21,033,408 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
