Update of August 14 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 730,479 after additional 1,947 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on August 14, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 680,815 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.2% along with the 1,320 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 8,667 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on August 14, 22% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,259. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 20 people died on August 13. There are 39,405 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Tanahu, Rupandehi, Surkhet, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out of 4,906 swab tests conducted on August 14, 677 were diagnosed positive. As of August 14, 74,711 people have tested positive through the antigen test. The number of infected, cured and active cases is not segregated in this data. According to the ministry, 3,330,578 people have been fully vaccinated till August 14.

According to Okhaldhunga representative Saraswati Baniya, the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till August 28. A meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre has decided to extend the prohibition order till August 28, said Chief District Officer Bandana Rai.
