Update of April 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 294,601 after additional 2,449 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on April 23, 2021.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 276,755 of the total infected have recovered.

On April 23, the rate of recovery reached 93.9% along with the 410 latest recovered. According to the Ministry, 8,798 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

Out of the total number of tests conducted, 12.3% were diagnosed positive. On April 22, there were 253 people below the age of 19 were diagnosed with positive

Till now, the death toll has reached 3,122. There are 14,724 in isolation. There are more than 500 active cases in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Rupandehi and Banke.

According to Baglung representative Srijana Pant, the Baglung municipality has decided to close all the educational institutions, tuition centres, language preparation classes and coaching classes in the municipality from April 25 to May 2, 2021.

Municipal Education Officer Dandapani Sharma said that the decision was taken at a meeting of the Municipal Executive Committee held on April 23.
