Update of 6 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection
Till 6 July 2020, there have been 15,964 infected people nationwide, out of which 9,118 are being treated, 35 have died and 6,811 have been discharged after recovery. There have been total 255,728 PCR test and 312,402 RDT conducted till date.
Provincial Reports
In Province 1, additional six cases were diagnosed on 6 July 2020 and with this, there are 676 cases diagnosed out of which 472 have been discharged.
According to the District Representative of Morang, Netra Prasad Adhikari, Nepal Doctor’s Association, Koshi Branch and Nepal Nursing Association Morang conducted a press conference and asked the provincial government to take a PCR test of all the health workers of the province. The press conference also raised the issue of private hospitals not paying their employees with an excuse of corona and compelled them to stay on leave. They have requested the provincial government to investigate regarding that as well.
In Province 2, on 6 July 2020, additional 29 corona virus cases have been diagnosed. There have been total 3,737 cases out of which 2,091 have been discharged after recovery.
In Gandaki Province, additional 17 corona virus infection cases have been diagnosed and with this 1,113 people infected in this province.
In Karnali Province,
According to the District Representative of Surkhet, the PCR machine that has not been functioning from the past 11 days has obstructed the testing process in Birendranagar. The PCR sample are being sent to Nepalgunj, Dailekh, Jumla and Kathmandu. The company responsible for the repairing the PCR machine has not sent any technician yet, informed Director Rita Bhandari.
In Sudur Paschim Province,
According to the District Representative of Accham, 29 people staying in the quarantine of Bannigad rural municipality whose RDT was positive were sent back home. After this, the locals of the rural municipality protested. Nine out of the 29 were diagnosed with corona virus, therefore, they were kept in the isolation of the isolation of Bindeswori Secondary School and the remaining 20 were kept in the isolation of Saraswoti Secondary School, informed Chief of Health Department, Basanta Bahadue Rawal. He said, they were sent after no one showed the symptoms of corona. Their swabs were sent 14 days ago but the report is still pending.
According to the District Representative of Dadeldhura, Bhupendra Bista, out of the seven mountainous districts in the province, corona test has initiated in Dadeldhura from 5 July 2020. The PCR machine was bought after collecting funds from the locals. The machine is installed at the laboratory of Dadeldhura hospital and the first 12 samples tested there were retested at Seti provincial hospital. After getting same results for both the tests, laboratory of Dadeldhura hospital has started taking the sample test.
