Update of 29 June Regarding Corona Virus Infection

In the past 24 hours, 476 additional cases has been diagnosed in the country and with this there are 13, 248 people suffering from the infection nationwide, informed the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwor Gautam. According to him, in the last 24 hours, in 22 laboratories of the country 7,791 swabs were tested. Till date, 10, 085 are being treated, 29 have lost their lives due to the disease and 3,134 have been discharged after recovery.

Provincial Reports,

In Province 2, on 29 June, 25 additional cases were diagnosed. There are 3,389 people infected in the Province. Out of them, 1,630 have been discharged after recovery.

According to the District Representative of Rautahat, Kopila Timilsina, the 30-year-old asthma patient of Rautahat’s Fatawa Bijaypur Municipality, who died at Star Hospital of Sanepa during treatment was tested positive for corona virus. He died on 27 June 2020. He was kept in the ICU with ventilator. His medical history showed some critical rheumatic issues.

In Bagmati Province, on 29 June, additional 16 people were diagnosed with corona virus infection. There are six in Kathmandu, four in Chitwan, two in Dhading and Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre and Makwanpur had one each people diagnosed with the infection. With this, there are 407 people suffering from corona virus infection in the province. On 29 June, a person died due to corona virus infection and it is the sixth death reported due to the infection in this province.

In Gandaki Province, on 29 June additional 53 cases were recognized and with this there are 949 people suffering from corona virus infection.

According to the District Representative of Kaski, Sushan Ghimire, after Pokhara Health Science Academy became a corona specialized hospital, patients of the OPD ward started getting affected. The leaders of the Civil Society Organizations of the province have presented a memorandum to the Social Development Minster of the province regarding this.

According to the District Representative of Tanahu, Prakash Chandra Bhattarai, after health-workers and security personnel started being infected with corona, Aabu Khaireni rural municipality has been closed for a week.

In Karnali Province,

According to the District Representative of Durga Thapa, the PCR machine of Karnali Provincial hospital which tested more than 400 swabs in a day got out of order and has halted the testing process.

According to the District Representative of Dailekh, Amar Sunar, a PCR machine has been installed at Dailekh’s laboratory on 29 June.
